Secretion and reabsorption of uterine luminal fluid in rats.
Treatment of ovariectomized rats with oestradiol-17beta and progesterone demonstrated that oestradiol-17beta causes secretion of sodium, potassium and water into the lumen of the uterine horn and that progesterone causes reabsorption of these substances.

Uterine fluid contains a high concentration of [Formula: see text] which plays an essential role in sperm capacitation and fertilization. In addition, the [Formula: see text] concentration in uterine fluid changes periodically during the estrous cycle. It is well-known that the endometrial epithelium contains machineries involving the apical SLC26 family anion exchangers for secreting [Formula:...
متن کاملUterine luminal proteins at the time of implantation in rats.
Changes in rat urerine luminal proteins were analysed during pregnancy and after ovariectomy on Day 3 of pregnancy plus daily administration of progesterone, when delay of implantation is imposed. Total protein levels reached a peak level on Day 5 of pregnancy, the day of implantation, in the intact but not the ovariectomized females. Qualitative analyses of protein-SDS complexes showed an incr...

Physiol. 222(Z) : 421-427. 1972.-In acute experiments in rats the effect of intravenous infusions of KC1 on proximal tubular fluid reabsorption was studied. In free-flow micropuncture recollections, tubular fluid/plasma inulin concentration ratios decreased...
متن کاملUterine glands impact uterine receptivity, luminal fluid homeostasis and blastocyst implantation
Uterine glands are essential for pregnancy in mice and likely humans, because they secrete or transport bioactive substances that regulate uterine receptivity for blastocyst implantation. In mice, the uterus becomes receptive to blastocyst implantation on day 4, but is refractory by day 5. Here, blastocysts could be recovered from progesterone-induced uterine gland (PUGKO) but not wildtype (WT)...
